The Annapurna Range is a vast massif with several peaks above 7000m. Part of the range forms a natural amphitheatre known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, ringed by such giants as Annapurna 1, Glacier Dome, Gangapurna,Annapurna Fang and Machhapuchhare (Mt.Fish Tail). On this trek, one of our most popular Nepal trekking tours, we pass through forested hillsides to Ghorepani where we ascend Poon Hill for a magnificent panoramic sunrise of the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri. Entering a narrow valley we pass directly below Machhapuchhare before reaching the Sanctuary, a veritable home of the Gods. We have a day to explore this magnificent place before returning to Pokhara via a different route. This is a fairly strenuous alpine trek offering close-up mountain views equal to any in the Himalayas.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENTS FOR TREKKING
Important Note :
Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with Sherpa Holidays. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.
The Trekking Group
For this trek, there will be one leader, assistant leader (4 trekkers:1 assistant guide) and Sherpa porters for luggage carrying (2 trekkers:1 porter). This arrangement ensures that any body in the group is sick, the trip can still go ahead as planned.Sherpa Backpackers can run the trek for group of any size. But generally it will be better to have a maximum of twelve people, as we have found this to be the optimum size for a successful trip. However, if we would like to make a group booking for more than twelve people together, Sherpa Backpackers can arrange this too.
Accommodations
During the trip, you will spend three nights in Kathmandu and during our trek we will spend rest of the nights at standard tea houses. All accommodations for trek are in local lodges on twin sharing basis. If we prefer a single room, we may indicate our preference and get single rooms on request by paying single supplement charges. However, there are several places that do not allow single accommodations in the Everest Region.
Meals
On your trip, you can enjoy both traditional Nepalese cuisine along with all types of international cuisine. Breakfast will be served from the tea house or lodge menu where we spend the night. Similar arrangement can also be made for dinner. Lunch will be taken on the way to the next destination. A welcome dinner will be served during our stay in Kathmandu.
